ABOUT US
The Vietnamese Young Scholars Program (VietScholars) is a groundbreaking initiative empowering high school students to lead transformative educational experiences in the emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Synthetic Biology, Business analytics, Neuroscience, Clean Energy.
One of its flagship projects, TINY MACHINE LEARNING BOOTCAMP (TINY TENSOR), is a non-profit bootcamp designed by passionate high school students from across Vietnam. This initiative provides a unique platform for learners to explore the fundamentals of machine learning (ML) through hands-on training programs and interactive workshops, all under the mentorship of seasoned experts from Vietnam and around the globe.
Our Student Leaders and Advisors work closely with participants to create a supportive and collaborative learning environment. They guide students in exploring artificial intelligence concepts while encouraging teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking. Together, they help students apply AI knowledge to develop innovative solutions for real-world problems.

Dr. Dinh-Thuan Do is a scientist specializing in emerging intelligent technologies, including Tiny Machine Learning (TinyML), the Internet of Things (IoT), and advanced wireless communication systems. He serves as the Director of the Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WICOM) Lab, where his research explores advanced technologies that enable intelligent and connected systems for future networks.
Dr. Do has received several prestigious recognitions for his scientific contributions. In 2015, he was honored with the Golden Globe Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology in Vietnam, recognizing him as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Young Scientists in Vietnam. He also received the Medal of Creative Young Talents for his innovative research achievements. In 2021, he was listed among the Top 14 Highly Cited Scientists at Asia University (Taiwan), highlighting the global impact of his research in wireless communications and emerging technologies.

Houbing Herbert Song, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor whose research interests include cyber-physical systems/internet of things, cybersecurity and privacy, and AI/machine learning/big data analytics. His research has been sponsored by federal agencies (including National Science Foundation, US Department of Transportation, and Federal Aviation Administration, among others.) He is the Director of the NSF Center for Aviation Big Data Analytics (Planning), the Associate Director for Leadership of the DOT Transportation Cybersecurity Center for Advanced Research and Education (Tier 1 Center) and the Director of the Security and Optimization for Networked Globe Laboratory, SONG Lab, at UMBC. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, and IEEE Journal on Miniaturization for Air and Space Systems. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the
